2016: The 100 Black Men of Madison
The twelfth annual Madison Club Charitable Foundation's Charity Gala raised $154,000 for The 100 Black Men of Madison's Project SOAR initiative. Project SOAR (Student Opportunities, Access, and Readiness) is a comprehensive program created to lower truancy rates and raise high school graduation rates among African-American male students between the ages of 12 and 17 who attend a middle school or high school in the Madison Metropolitan School District. The program involves one-on-one mentoring, career exploration, and cultivating discussion on a number of social issues. By the time the students complete the program, they will gain a positive self-perception, identify SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Timely) career goals, and develop skills to positively influence others.
2015: Simpson Street Free Press
The eleventh annual Madison Club Charitable Foundation's Charity Gala raised $127,000 for Simpson Street Free Press, representing the first-ever outside fundraising event in the organization's history. The money raised allowed Simpson Street Free Press to increase their program capacity by more than 50% and eliminate the waiting list for their award-winning afterschool writing program for elementary, middle, and high school students.
2014: Badger Honor Flight
The tenth annual Madison Club Charitable Foundation's Charity Gala raised $103,000 for Badger Honor Flight, which comprised the largest financial donation to Badger Honor Flight in the organization's history. The money raised allowed Badger Honor Flight to take more than 100 local World War II and Korean War veterans to Washington D.C. to be honored for their service and to see the national war memorials that were built in their honor.
2013: Henry Vilas Zoo
The ninth annual Madison Club Foundation Charity Gala raised more than $90,000 to help complete the New Animal Health Center at Henry Vilas Zoo. The new veterinary hospital provides the critically necessary facilities for treating all of the Zoo’s animals. It includes specialized areas for surgery, radiology, intensive care, pharmacy, laboratory, quarantine, and indoor and outdoor holding areas, and also serves as a training facility for UW Vet School students.
2012: Domestic Abuse Intervention Services of Dane County
The eighth annual Madison Club Foundation Charity Gala raised the record amount of $114,600 for the construction of a new shelter for DAIS. The funds contributed allowed for the construction of two bedrooms in the new facility, which will serve as places of safety and sanctuary for domestic abuse victims in Dane County.
2011: Ronald McDonald House of Madison Charities
The Madison Club Foundation’s seventh annual Charity Gala was a resounding success. The sold-out event, which raised nearly $78,000 for the construction of the Ronald McDonald House Family Room at St. Mary’s Hospital, featured a fun evening of champagne, gourmet food, lively auction bidding, and outstanding music from the Ken Wheaton Trio.
The sixth annual Madison Club Foundation Charity Gala raised $70,000 for the YWCA Madison’s Real Lives, Real Change Campaign. The funds contributed allowed the YWCA to complete much-needed renovations to their facility at 101 E. Mifflin Street in downtown Madison. Renovations included a rebuild of their 11th-floor community room, play area, and kitchen.
2009: Porchlight, Inc.
The Madison Club Foundation’s fifth annual Charity Gala raised $45,500 for the renovation of Porchlight, Inc.’s transitional housing facility for homeless veterans. Besides offering temporary housing, the facility also offers a comprehensive assistance program to help men and women find steady employment and a stable place to call home.
2008: Operation Fresh Start
The fourth annual Madison Club Foundation Charity Gala raised $59,000 for Operation Fresh Start, an organization that provides job training and educational assistance to at-risk teens and young adults within the Madison area.
2007: American Family Children’s Hospital
The Madison Club Foundation’s third annual Charity Gala raised $56,000 for the American Family Children's Hospital in Madison.
2006: Second Harvest Foodbank
The second annual Madison Club Foundation Charity gala raised $40,000 to benefit the Second Harvest Foodbank's Kids Cafe program at the Dane County Boys & Girls Clubs.
2005: American Cancer Society
The Madison Club Foundation's first annual Charity Gala raised over $25,000 for the American Cancer Society and its research initiatives.
