History & Culture: Behind the Scenes Look at Concerts on the Square Wed, Jun 12, 2019 — 5:45PM
When seated at your table or on your blanket at the Capitol Square, enjoying a glass of wine on a beautiful summer evening and listening to wonderful orchestral music, have you ever wondered how a splendid concert comes together? Join Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra Music Director Andrew Sewell for an informative dinner program as part of the 2019 Madison Club History & Culture Experience Series. Maestro Sewell will preview the 2019 Concerts on the Square, discuss how he constructs and plans the summer-long series and six concerts, explain how he selects guest artists, and describe how he constitutes, rehearses and leads the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra on Wednesday summer evenings. He will provide an interesting and unique perspective on the creative and practical roles of the Music Director in leading the concerts, guest artists and musicians in entertaining performances every week for 40,000 plus people at the Capitol Square.
This insight will be presented for Madison Club members and their guests at a dinner program in the newly remodeled Lake Room. Price is $50 per person. To register, please visit: https://btsconcerts.eventbrite.com
